Leftovers? Cornbread Stuffing Waffles and Turkey! Copy

A few years ago I was watching Diners, Drive In’s and Dives and came across a restaurant that made waffles made out of cornbread dressing and left over turkey. I had to try it and did and its fantastic! I decided to post the ingredients and how its made. Forget the syrup. Slice some nice white meat on top of the waffle, and cover it with gravy, then a side of cranberries!

INGREDIENTS
• 4 cups crumbled leftover stuffing
• 2 large eggs
• Chicken broth or turkey stock, as needed
• Leftover cranberry sauce, for serving
• Leftover gravy, for serving

EQUIPMENT:
• Waffle Baker

INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat the waffle baker and grease it with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, stir together the leftover stuffing and eggs. Add 1/4 cup of chicken broth and mix until well combined. Continue adding chicken broth as needed until the mixture is well-moistened.
Scoop half of the stuffing mixture into the prepared waffle baker, spreading it evenly. (The stuffing will not spread or expand like regular waffle batter as it bakes, so it’s important to arrange it in an even, thin layer.) Close the lid and let the waffle bake until golden brown and the egg is cooked throughout.
Transfer the waffle to a serving plate then repeat the filling and baking process with the remaining stuffing. Serve the waffles with leftover cranberry sauce and warm leftover gravy.
NOTES:
This recipe for leftover stuffing waffles works best with basic stuffings that don’t include large pieces of vegetables or meats such as sausage. It also helps to warm the stuffing slightly prior to mixing it with the eggs and broth so that the mixture is easier to stir.
Don’t repeatedly open the waffle baker while the waffle is baking or it’ll lose it’s shape.
Stuffing waffles take longer to cook than regular waffles, as the egg must be completely cooked throughout. Don’t be afraid to let the waffle bake until it’s golden brown and enjoy.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

The True Meaning of Christmas

Jesus was born in order to pay the price for the things we have done wrong: sin. God sent his only son to be the atonement for all our sins so that we would not be separated from God. Without Jesus, we would all die for our sins. We inherited our sin nature from the first human beings God created, Adam and Eve. While being fully God and yet fully man, Jesus came into the world as an infant to save us all.

For Christians, the true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of the Savior, Jesus Christ. We know that through belief in the Christ we are daughters and sons of God. Heaven will one day be our home. Perhaps this will help you look at the Christmas season differently this year. A chance to truly take in the wonder and awe of the season.

Luke 2:4-19

4  So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5  He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6  While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7  and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

The Shepherds and the Angels

8  And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9  An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12  This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 13  Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14  “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” 15  When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” 16  So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17  When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18  and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19  But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.

Seasons Change, But Evil Allergies Never Leave You Alone!

I know so many people who just love fall, and the weather and all the other stuff that goes with it.  I, for one am not one of those people.  Sure, I love the changing of the leaves on the trees, its very pretty, or yea and Thanksgiving, that could be the best part about fall.  But you know what else comes around… ALLERGIES!  Yep that’s right, the nose starts running, lots of sneezing, eyes watering.   So, with the help from our business partner, Air Oasis, we will tell you how to help your allergies during these closing months of the year.

Pollen is around but the bigger problem this time of year, ragweed is.  Mold is also a cause of allergies.  Mold loves dark and damp places.  Those leaves that fall off the tree and you leave them in your yard until they blow into mine or stay stagnate until spring!   Guess what, those piles of leaves collect moisture, which helps generate mold, and the spores of the mold can travel and mess with your respiratory system.  Turning on your heater for the first time in a few months, can release dust mites in the air and trigger sneezing at home and school.

So, what can you do?  Check your pollen count on the weather from the local TV stations.  At our home, when we walk in from outside, the shoes come off and there put away.  If you have been working outside change clothes, pollen sticks to your clothing.  Make sure you call Adam’s Air for a free Winterization, (for homeowners only), and make sure your changing your filters at least every two months.  Our business partner, Air Oasis has a complete line of aid purifiers, and air quality tools to breathe cleaner and fresher air.

HVAC Can’t Keep Up, This Could Be Why

Your blower wheel and the motor attached helps move large amounts of cool or warm air into your home.  But, if the blower wheel and motor get clogged with dirt and grease it slows the whole system down, which in return blows less air into your home.  Any dirt or substance on your wheel or motor will make it work even harder.  This wheel is a delicate and balanced part and when it gets weighed down with foreign substances it just can’t do its job. In some cases if the wheel and motor are contain lots of containtaments, your system might not work at all.

There are some things you can do to help prevent this.

1-Change air filters regularly.  I know, we tell you this all the time, but its just that important.

2-Regular maintenance.  Twice a year you should call Adam’s Air and have us before winter and mid to late spring, to check your system to see if it is ready for the up and coming weather changes.
